  • 2-1/4 cups of all purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon of salt

  • 1 teaspoon of baking soda

  • 1/2 cup of granulated sugar

  • 1 cup firmly packed, brown sugar

  • 2 sticks of unsalted butter, soften

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 package of semi-sweet chocolate chips

  • 1 cup of nuts (note: you can add other nuts of your choice. Or omit them altogether)


Step 1

Preheat oven to 375 degree F. Using two separate mixing bowls. Bowl #1 (dry ingredients): Combine flour, salt, and baking soda in a bowl and set aside. Bowl #2: Combine granulated sugar, brown sugar, soften butter, and vanilla extract. Mix with a hand held mixer until mix is creamy.

Step 2

In Bowl #2: Add eggs, then dry ingredients and mix until fully combined. Stir in chips and chopped nuts (your choice of nut or if desired).

Step 3

Drop mixture by rounded tablespoons (or a use a cookie dough scoop). onto a ungreased cookie sheet pan. Bake 8 to 10 minutes (I like to back for 9 minutes). Allow cookies to cool slightly before transferring to cooling rack. DO NOT EAT RAW COOKIE DOUGH.
